Many years ago, Emelia and I were lucky enough to meet a wonderful human being. Her name was Jaime Jenkins, from the blog, Polkadots On Parade. We met her at the first Disney On the Road event in Oakland. She had an enthusiastic laugh and the most beautiful blue sparkling eyes you’d ever see. As you can imagine, we were devastated by her passing and wanted to find a way to keep her spirit with us. We’re blessed to be able to tell you about the Jaime Jenkins Memorial Scholarship Fund.
About Jaime
Jaime liked big, warm, strong hugs. She was a straight shooter and would tell you exactly what she thought. She loved her family more than anything. She believed in God. Prayed for us, a lot. She was a cheerleader for everyone. But she made you feel like you were the only person on earth. She was the brightest light that was dimmed way too soon.
Gone too soon
Jaime had metastatic breast cancer. Even when we all knew the end result, Jaime only wanted to hear about what we were up to. How could she help us? Emelia and I crawled into her hospital bed and had a solid laugh as Jaime called the nurse to take a picture of all of us together. Emelia and I knew that would be the last time we got to hold our friend tight. But we knew that it was only the beginning of Jamie’s journey with us.
Jaime Jenkins Scholarship Fund
With the blessing of her family, we are thrilled to tell you more about the Jaime Jenkins Scholarship Fund. We have included a donation option when you purchase your ticket or you can donate directly to our fund. FLOCK will match any donation that comes in so we can have space at the table for someone that may not have been able to afford to come otherwise. Jaime was always looking for a way to give to others and if she was here with us today, we know she’d be part of the FLOCK team.
Thank you to everyone who donates, shares, and supports the Jaime Jenkins Scholarship fund. If you, or someone you know would like to apply, visit our website for more information.
